Cambridge Satchel Company | New Arrivals

Recently, bloggers and satchel lovers alike will have been captivated by the exciting release of the Cambridge Satchel Company's stunning new spring collection. My twitter page has been overflowing lately with the the company's tweets and I've been loving all the bright, vivid pictures of their new products they've been posting as well! Ever since I first heard of the company through the google chrome advert many year' ago (I missed the 's' on purpose) (it works better if you read it in an accent) I've been a loyal fan of not only their gorgeous satchels, but also all the other beautifully british designs and creations of theirs (I want an enamel keychain so so much!).

The new spring collection brings with it those more than welcomed vibrant, warm colours that, lets be honest, we've all been missing these past few winter months. Blacks, burgundy's and tartans are all trend favourites of mine (and the colder weather is sometimes better than warm weather in my opinion - sorry!), but even those like me whose natural habitat seems to be the winter snow and wool coats, will be thrilled to see some vibrance back in our wardrobes.

I Heart New York

Today's post is gonna be a little be different as it's my very first book review! I haven't got any experience with book reviews so bare with me for the moment - practise makes perfect 'nd all that ;)

For Christmas my brother kindly bought me three books from the I heart series by Lindsey Kelk. The first in the series, I heart New York, I recently finished reading. Since starting the book, I haven't been able to put it down. It's everything I want and look for in a story and I was thrilled to discover this frankly immense series ;D

I first discovered the author Lindsey as well as her book series, I heart, on a leaflet in a goodie bag I bought whilst at the the clothes show live. I love New York City, so anything and everything which involves New York immediately grabs my attention! Seeing as the first book is I heart New York, I was an eager beaver to sit down with a cuppa' and crack it open.

The story follows the life of Angela Clarke, a twenty something children's book writer from London, who after discovering her boyfriend cheating on her at her best friends wedding and finding out that all of her friends knew about it (including the bride and groom), does what any of us would have done; broke the grooms hand with a Louboutin shoe, made the bride burst into tears on the 'happiest' day of her life, and runs away to New York City.

River Island Wishlist

Whilst many are hoping that the worst of the cold winter months are over, I'm still desperately clinging to the hope that the days of frosty trees and icy dragons breath aren't behind us just yet. Luckily though, each day when I walk to school I still have to navigate the slippery pavements and wrap up warm in swathes of clothes, which I'm taking as a good sign that my favourite weather isn't quite ready to say it's goodbyes. I've always been a much bigger fan of the colder seasons - when I was younger it was because of the snow days and the excitement of Christmas! Nowadays it's because of my style...(and Christmas!). I love layering clothes and if I could I'd wear jumpers all the time. Being in England is a big help when you want to wear warmer clothes, but I still yearn for that time of year again when I can chuck on a scarf and gloves. Thankfully though (to me), it looks like the chilly weather is here to say for a bit longer. With the weather deciding to stick around a bit and my inner compulsive shopper taking charge, I've compiled a wishlist based on the incredible River Island sale (with a few items that aren't in the sale) :D (It's not even winter based?)

*All images belong to River Island and I don't claim to own any of them*

Feeling British

Anyone who knows me will know how much a fan I am of the Union Jack flag. I buy pretty much anything and everything with it on and so as you can imagine, when I saw these I was pretty bloody happy ;) I first saw the jumper on ASOS a few months ago and it was love at first sight. I kept telling myself I'd order it but I never got round to doing it, luckily though my Mum did whilst she was browsing ASOS for herself - thanks Mum! It's a perfect fit and is so warm and cosy! Also, the colours aren't too bright, in fact, their more vintage looking which is great because I'll be able to wear more with it.

Even though I only have one pair, I am a huge doc martens fan. The other pair I own were bought in a sale and you can see them in THIS post. Dr Martens are incredibly well made boots which will last you a lifetime whilst at the same time keeping you stylish - what's not to love? Combine that with my obsession love of the Union Jack flag and there ladies and gentlemen, you have perfection ;) I pretty much shrieked when my Mum spotted these on Amazon (these posts make me sound so lazy and my Mum like a shopaholic!), so after much consideration of what I could wear them with they were ordered. Hooray! A matter of days later they arrived at my door and didn't leave my feet until I went to bed (cheesy grin).

What have you bought recently? Are you a fan of Dr Marten shoes or ASOS? What do you think of my new purchases?

LUSH Golden Wonder Bath Bomb

Being a loyal Lush lover, I couldn't resist taking the opportunity in December to ask for a couple of their amazing Christmas bath bombs for (you guessed it!) Christmas last year (gosh it sounds so long ago). The year before last I had my first ever test run of their gorgeous golden wonder bath bombs and I was truly impressed :). Not only does it have the most heavenly smell (just like every other Lush item), it transforms your bath into a mystical, magical mixture of colours and golden stars. No joke.

A Day Out At Dunham

Yesterday, my family and I decided to take a trip out to Dunham Massey, an estate owned by the National Trust. These past few months going for walks has become a family favourite of ours, and something we tend to do at weekends when my Dad's not working and we can all spend time together. I may have been there before as I think my parents mentioned taking my brother and I there when we were younger to look for conkers, but for me it was like seeing it for the very first time.

The estate isn't as big as other ones owned by the National Trust, but it was more busy than any other National Trust owned property I'd been to. You can definitely see evidence of the UK's most recent extreme weather, with the entire grounds being one big bog. Not a good day to wear brand new docs (annoyed face). Within 3 hours we'd seen the majority of the grounds.

The wind was a bit nippy and whilst wrapped up warm, it was still nice to retreat back to the car and go home to a gorgeous hot chocolate (yummmm).

Here's a few pictures I took whilst there...

What have you been up to lately?

Instagram Outfits | 2013

Being short on some post ideas recently, I decided to reminisce and do a super quick post showing you some of the OOTD pictures I'd posted on instagram over last year. There aren't many of them purely and simply because at the moment I'm in high school where I have to wear a school uniform each day and when on those times when I do go out and socialise, there never seems to be any time or the right place to take photos of my outfit (s). Oh well, hopefully that should all change come September when I fingers crossed start college! We don't have uniform there! :D

If you wanna' check out my Instagram, just click HERE :) I'd love it if you'd follow me!

Which is your favourite outfit?

2014 Resolutions...

With 2013 having flown by in a whirlwind of school, exams and starting this blog, it is now finally time to say Happy New Year!

I thought it best to kick off 2014 with a few of my own resolutions. All over Instagram and other blogs, I've noticed a lot of "Make 2014 your year" and I have to say, I think I've fully taken that on board when writing my resolutions. 2014 is a year of improvement for me regarding my resolutions which makes me only more eager to see what the year ahead will bring with it.  I have to say, 2013 was one of my favourite years. Which is funny because nothing amazing happened! It was just a really simple, pleasant year. D'you know what I mean? Anyway *throws hands*, enough waffling (something that should also be a new year resolution), on with the show post!
